The Del Mar was developed with you in mind. The hide-away control panel rolls easily into your reach when in use. The grill operation is controlled with one knob, it lights, and adjusts and turns off the barbecue with ease. The barbecue does not require a large ugly tank that needs to be lugged to the gas station for refilling. Instead, the Del Mar propane model uses lightweight, disposable LP canisters that are readily available at your supermarket. We have even made them easier to change by mounting the canister regulator on a convenient swing out receptacle. The natural gas model simply connects to your residential gas supply. the barbecue comes completely assembled. There is no need for tools or complicated directions. Simply attach the screw-on canister or connect to natural gas and you are ready to grill. Cleaning up was also designed with your convenience in mind. The interior stainless steel components are easily accessible. There are no heavy weight grill racks or burners to contend with. The grill rack, radiant burner place, radiant dome, fire pan, and burner are all reachable, lightweight and easily disassembled for cleaning.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: What is the grilling time of the disposable one pound canister?
A: The one pound disposable canister of propane will last up to 3 1/2 hours depending upon your choice of grilling temperatures. Since the Del Mar design is highly "heat efficient", we recommend grilling on a low to medium-low setting.
Q: Can I use a larger refillable twenty-pound tank with the Del Mar propane model?
A: Yes, you may connect the propane Del Mar to a larger twenty-pound tank. A conversion hose is required and may be purchased at your local retailer or directly from Magma.
Q: Can I use Natural Gas?
A: You can use natural gas, but only on the natural gas mode. There are two models of the Del Mar, one is specifically designed for use with propane, the other with natural gas.
Q: Where can I buy the one-pound disposable canisters of propane?
A: The disposable propane canisters are available from Hardware Stores, Sporting Goods Stores, Marine Equipment Stores, Mass Merchandisers (K-Mart, Walmart, Costco), BBQ Retailers, and at many Supermarkets. There are generally two sizes of canisters available. the Del Mar uses the shorter, and more generally available, 16.4 ounce canister as opposed to the taller, 14.1 ounce canister.
